Gail Austen

OAM, Owner and Manager of Goodtime surf and sail

My life has been a force of natural energy that has taken me out on the high seas, down magnificent rivers, through barrels in the surf, rolling on concrete waves, and bush trekking on my treadly…its been and still is about having a Goodtime cause that’s what living is all about. Business is what makes all this possible, you need great equipment, time out and skills that only come with practice…I set out in business at age seven and brought home my first two and six….my mother took some for board, some for the bank some for me and the remainder to be shared with my siblings. Tough lesson for your first pay packet. Pay your way, take responsibility for what you do and share with others. That simple act a of a great parent Joan Austen set my course to the Telstra Nationals in 1997…and it does not stop there Goodtime my business is still pushing the boundaries…….they talk about recession, since 1971 we have been through a few including a total wipeout in 84 by fire….we have been on fire ever since.
