2001 Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year
Dr Judith Slocombe
Chief Executive Officer, The Alannah and Madeline Foundation (was managing director of Victorian Veterinary Pathology Services at time of her award)
Dr Judith Slocombe established her own business which she grew to be the largest veterinary diagnostic group in Australasia. After selling the business she moved on to senior executive roles across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Judith has an MBA from the Melbourne Business School and studied executive management at the Harvard Business School. In 2003 she was awarded the Centenary Medal. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the Australian Institute of Management. Judith is a non-executive Director of Open Universities Australia, South East Water, Agriculture Victoria Services and is Chairman of the Lort Smith Animal Hospital. Judith is currently CEO of The Alannah and Madeline Foundation. This children’s charity works keep to children safe from violence and is a natural fit for Judith who is a mother of nine children of her own.
