Overall Northern Territory Winner
Julie Newton
Julie Newton is Managing Director of Geoff Newton Saddlery, a manufacturing and retail saddlery in Katherine. As an advocate for regional business, Julie represented Katherine at the inaugural Business Round Table earlier this year. She also represents the interests of business women as a member of the Northern Territory's Business Women's Consultative Council. In addition to these committees, Julie is active in the local community, being a member of the Katherine Region Tourist Association, the Chamber of Commerce and the Katherine Region Economic Organisation.

Renee Bartolo
Renee Bartolo is Chair and Director of GecOz, a technology-based mapping company based in Darwin. She has been actively involved in geospatial technology education and has implemented geographic information systems for land management in indigenous communities. Renee is currently completing a PhD, and through her study is assessing the use of geospatial technologies in detecting landscape change.
Community and Government Award
Rita Cattoni
Rita Cattoni manages the Warlpiri Media Association, an indigenous media organisation located near Alice Springs. The association provides video production, produces television news stories, offers web based projects and has a music recording studio. Some of the television programs have been produced for national broadcast. Rita's interest in this field led to her volunteering with the Women in Film and Television (WIFT).
Young Business Women's Award
Avril Vaughan
Avril Vaughan and her husband Chris own Bojangles Saloon and Restaurant in Alice Springs. The hospitality venue caters to large tour groups. The venue's Australiana theme is reflected in the furnishings including the use of recycled Ghan railway sleepers, via the bush band music that diners can enjoy while dining and of course the menu, which offers crocodile, kangaroo and emu. Avril has a strong background in hospitality, having previously worked for the Diplomat Hotel and Australian Liquor Marketers.
