2005 Telstra New South Wales Business Woman of the Year
Professor Julie Steele
Professor Julie Steele is Head of the Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the University of Wollongong. Over the past 20 years Julie has researched the biomechanics of injury prevention. Her current research includes obesity in childhood and breast movement and bra design. Julie's work has been recognised through 25 research awards and fellowships and invitations to present 10 national and international scientific keynote addresses. Findings from Julie's research have also been published in 47 international journals.

Elise Pascoe
Elise Pascoe is the Director of Elise Pascoe International Cooking School located in Jamberoo Valley catering to domestic and international visitors. Elise has been the editor and contributing writer of several Australian and international newspapers and magazines. She is the author of five cookbooks and a former television cooking segment presenter and radio broadcaster. Elise was the second Australian to become a Certified Culinary Professional with the International Association of Culinary Professionals.

Deborah Homewood
Deborah Homewood is Vice President and Head of Sales for South Asia and Strategic Markets for Asia Netcom. Deborah has responsibility for the Asian-based telecommunications carrier's operations in Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Her role includes driving customer service, meeting revenue goals and overseeing the organisation's profitability and 71 staff. In addition, Deborah is a board member of the Rotary Club of Sydney's Charity Yacht Regatta.

Belinda Smith
Belinda Smith is the Maintenance Manager for H L Mullane & Son Pty Ltd which provides plumbing, electrical and construction services. Belinda is responsible for a division which turns over almost $3 million per annum and has a staff of 26. Since taking on the role in 2000, Belinda has lead the division to an annual growth rate of between 20 and 30 per cent. Belinda is actively involved in the Newcastle Hunter Junior Chamber of Commerce and is currently studying for an MBA.
