2006 Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year

Eleanor Davidson

Eleanor Davidson is the General Manager of the Carlton Crest Hotel. With over 20 years experience in the hotel industry, Eleanor has been with the Carlton Crest Hotel for 10 years, and is the city's longest serving hotel manager. Responsible for over 300 staff, Eleanor leads various departments, including finance, marketing, sales, housekeeping, food, beverage and human resources. Under Eleanor's guidance, the Hotel has had an average growth rate of 13.8 per cent since 2001 and achieved a record profit of 31 per cent in 2005.

Pamela Hardgrave

Pamela Hardgrave is the owner and manager of Lillydale Host Farm, a farm stay property offering an authentic country experience including horse rides, bush walking, and farm activities. Pamela opened the farm stay in 2000, expanding her working cattle property ?Lillydale' into an ecologically sustainable retreat. Pamela and her staff focus on enhancing guest relationships and have introduced specialised children's programmes, as well as a travel desk that encourages guests to enjoy the surrounding region through professional tours and activities.

Hudson Community and Government Award Winner

Michelle Monsour

Michelle Monsour is the Chief Executive Officer of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, and has been instrumental in promoting and sustaining one of the Gold Coast's most iconic tourist attractions. In April 2006 Michelle established a koala wildlife colony in China, a world first which has created a lifelong partnership between Currumbin and Xiangjiang Safari Park. Michelle's goal is to ensure that zoos are fulfilling their obligations to both the community and wildlife, and is aiming to establish Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary as a leader in environmental management and research.

Linda Lowndes

Linda Lowndes is the Director and Inventor of Microskin International. Microskin is a simulated secondary skin, which aids sufferers of skin conditions, birthmarks, burns, scars and acne damage. Linda created Microskin International after 7 years of research and trials. Microskin International is scientifically formulated to match each patient's skin colour, will bind to the epidermis, lasting up to 5 days. It is waterproof, flexible, 100 per cent breathable and is UV resistant. Microskin International has been successfully trialled by more than 300 patients and is the subject of two current medical studies.

Young Women's Award Winner

Kathy Teese

Kathy Teese is the Director of Jimboomba Motorcycles, a motorcycle retail outlet and service workshop. Kathy established Jimboomba Motorcycles in 2002, and negotiated and secured a Yamaha franchise dealership in 2006. Jimboomba Motorcycles provides retail sales of new and used motorcycles, parts and accessories, as well as of the mechanical service of motorcycles and all terrain vehicles. Kathy has enjoyed business growth since the business opened in 2002, analysing performance indicators to develop strategies to advance the business. Today, Jimboomba Motorcycles employs six permanent staff.
