Suzanne Barry
Alice Springs
Suzanne Barry is Director of Gap Community Child Care Centre, a community-based, not-for-profit service for children aged nine months to 12 years. When Suzanne was recruited to take over the centre in 2006, it was in a catastrophic state. The power and water were about to be cut off, and the children and staff were trying to manage without the very basics of childcare. In just 18 months, Suzanne has turned the business around to provide a safe, secure and vibrant centre for its expanded staff of 15 employees and the 89 families who use the centre.
